AIESEC in Slovenia

I am far too tired right now to think of anything to say but I did have a wee story of AIESEC to share. Got to the airport in Llubjana, had a hostel booked for that night and then 3 days to make my way to Dubrovnik, no firm plans really. Got to the arrival halls and saw two guys in AIESEC T-shirts. Went past them at first and then thought, what the hell, turned round and starting chatting, ended up that they were waiting for a UK CEED, then they were going to show him around and then drop him at the train in Llubjana. So went along for the tour and got a ride to the hostel that night. Couldn't believe it. Slovenia, lovely country, go there. Would show you some pics but my digital camera got stolen in Croatia.

I do have to add that the boys, though lovely, were at least 6-7 years younger than me. AIESEC does make me feel like some kind of Grandma...with plenty of WISDOM...hoho.

Return to Aotearoa

Am in swanky lounge in Hong Kong feeling like an imposter, see I got this voucher on the way to Hong Kong for work last year giving me access to the CP Business Class Lounge if I was ever travelling CP again. Nice. Travelling on cheap NGO economy class flights has no glamour. On the way home after 5 weeks in Europe, back to the end of the world again. The biggest thing going on when I left was election campaigning. At the time this consisted of rubbishing each other's party billboards as they sprung up over town. Very tense. Thinking about returning to NZ is great...family, friends and home...but, man is that island far far far away. Only 5 hours of waiting and one 12 hour flight to go...You'd think that with all that time on my hands in between travels I would have come up with some insights...on the contrary, I have never seen so much of Drew Barrymore on the Big (small) screen in one year in my entire life. Oh, and Matthew McCougnahy...mmmm...(sorry about the spelling).
