Community Development in the Philippines
I've just got back from the most amazing month-long visit to the Philippines. Moving around every 5 days looking at community development projects TEARFund NZ sponsors, amazing communities and amazing field workers. Posted my favourite photo.
In every village there are masses of beautiful curious kids. I must look kinda freaky. The quickest way to their hearts is to 1. smile at them 2. make like you're going to chase them 3. try and ask them their names in broken Tagalog (always good for a laugh) or, the most fail-safe of all 4. take a photo on your digital camera and then show it to them.
Am having a hard day at work after only sleeping for one hour last night - NZ night in the suburbs is so eerily quiet, its kinda creepy. Lay awake staring at the ceiling listening to cicadas and wondering how the damn cat could sleep so soundly. Why is nobody honking their horns?
